Day 50 -55

Day 50 – I hit the jackpot this day as I received five letters. My heart skipped a beat seeing all those beautiful letters inside that post office box.

Day 51 – Empty mail box

Day 52 – Another jackpot – five letters! Especially sweet since this was Valentine’s Day.

Day 53 – Zero letters

Day 54 and Day 55 – I missed going this day because I was at a quilters retreat… maybe more about that on another post.

But here is what I accomplished at the retreat – and just fyi, under each design is about six of each envelope. I sewed a total of 131! Just a mere 109 to go! 

And just look at that cute name tag that was made for all those at the retreat.

Day 45 - Day 49

Thought I’d post from day 45 thru 49 and start with Day 50 for the next post, since most of these days are pretty uneventful (as far as mail goes).

Day 45 – I was helping two of my children move some things.  I didn’t do any of the moving or lifting… just the driving of the van. By the time we were finished, it was too late for the Post Office. (sad face)

Day 46 – I received one letter from my special pen-pal gal. (smiley face)

Day 47 – No letters in the box this day February 8th

Day 48 – I missed going this day because I was out all day… having lunch with my aunt and cousin and sister. My aunt is going to be 94! I also had to go to a quilting store… imagine that?

Day 49 – I didn't get to the post office because hubby and I went to The Peabody to see The Buddy Holly Story... thanks to another couple who planned it all. Hubby and I are homebodies, so if it weren’t for other people… well, who knows. It was a great show! And great people we were with!

Stay tuned for Day 50 thru 53 because I can tell you right now that I won’t be getting mail on Day 54 and Day 55 as I’ll be at a quilters retreat! Woot! Woot! Can’t wait.

Day 41 - Day 44

Day 41 – Thursday, February 1 – No letters in the post office box

Day 42 – I missed going to the post office today because I was shopping with my sister for quilting stuff… yes, I am making a quilt and going on a quilting retreat. I’m so excited.

Day 43 – I received two letters from my two favorite daughters! You stinkers. One of the envelopes was #35.

Day 44 – A real surprise… a nice, long letter…  and as you can see in the photo, I'm on Book 2 of my P.O. Box journal. I'm documenting my journey of this wonderful gift.

Now I’d like to add that I recently joined a quilters guild. I haven’t met anyone yet as I haven’t been to any meetings. But one of the members requested guild members (if you wanted) to send a card to her mother who is turning 100 years old. That was right up my alley, as I wrote a letter too!
