I Don't Remember

I’m happy and pleased to announce my article, “I Don’t Remember” will be published in Well Versed 2013.

A little back story.

I had been preparing for a 40^th grade school reunion, took a trip down memory lane and was looking at my 7^th grade class photo. 

I had no recollection about anything during 7^th grade, specifically on “picture day.” I wrote a short piece beginning with, “I don’t remember…” Shortly after I completed the essay, Donna Volkenannt announced on her blog about a submission/contest and I decided, what do I have to lose?

Imagine my surprise. But it's no surprise that Donna took 2nd place. I'm among some wonderful writers in this anthology.

Encouraging Creativity

I picked up my husband from the airport and while waiting in the baggage claim, the display window caught my eye. Inside hung beautifully illustrated birds drawn by elementary children. Then I noticed a book had been published, Bonkers for Birds (a book by kids for kids). How clever. It made me so happy to know some brilliant person encouraged creativity in these youth. I hope the kids realize this treasure… could make a night and day difference in how they view themselves in the future. Each bird colored and drawn with crayon was a different species and I loved each one.

Super Sweet

Just when I think there could not possibly be any more awards out there, someone comes along and honors me and they are so sweet to do so, how can I turn them down? Thank you Estrella for honoring me with this award. Estrella at Life’s a Stage deserves the Super Sweet Blogger award because she really is super sweet. She’s kind and generous and has a huge heart. When I was doing the Letter Writing Challenge (writing a letter each day in the month of February), she asked if I would write to someone else rather than herself.
