Book Blurb Friday #36

It’s Book Blurb Friday #36. Check out the fabulous and lovely Lisa Ricard Claro’s blog to play BBF. Basically you write a book blurb based on the photo (that being the cover of the book) and you must do it in 150 words or less.

This week’s photo was taken by Lisa’s daughter, Christina. I thought it was cool and the other morning something popped in my head about it. Didn’t think I’d have anything left up there while doing NaNo, but here it is, coming in at 56 words.

The Obernique
Photographer Obermoeller’s unique ability to angle the camera from the perspective of a chipmunk brings a fresh eye to viewing photographs. In this full color, 213 page table top picturesque book, you’ll dazzle friends and relatives with these unusual and engaging shots that evoke powerful emotion. Surprises abound. Check it out and feel your inner chipmunk.

  1. LOL Love the inner chipmunk! We actually have a chipmunk who lives inside the wall. (The stairs divide four stone retaining walls, two on the left and two on the right, tiered. Chip lives on the upper left tiered wall.) He's so little, obviously--chipmunk!--but he's wily, and he drives my Labs NUTS! They chase him, they bark at him, they corner him in his wall hidey-hole, but they CANNOT catch him. We love watching the chipmunk outsmart the dogs. Hilarious. And I love your blurb. You nailed it!

  2. What a fascinating idea! To create a chipmunk photographer and to see the world through his eyes! It's bound to be a success.

  3. Lynn, you are so funny! I actually laughed out loud. That is some great writing too. I would love to buy your book and put it in my living room! I'm giving you a bit of a shout out in today's post, btw, but it isn't done yet.

    Have a great weekend,

  4. Right up there with Things You Never Thought You Would Say in Life: Photographer (and writer) Obermoellers really did make me want to get in touch with my inner chipmunk!

  5. Oh, yes, inner chipmunks. I definitely have one. When I was 9 years old, I looked exactly like a chipmunk, and I've been saying so ever since. There was a thing on Facebook "Which singing star do you look like?" and I said "Alvin"! I still have the picture, but can't put a photo into a comment.
I'll have to buy this book, definitely. No doubt about it.

  6. It's always good to be able to see things from a new perspective - I just never thought I'd go the Chip and Dale route to get there!

    Great job!

  7. Lynn, not only have you coined a new word, your book blurb is already getting the giggles. 213 pages...is that enough? Oh, the chipmunk got tired and then went to work on volume 2. Short and sweet blurb!

  8. Hey everyone - thanks for the comments! I have no idea where the inner chipmunk came from other than my cat has been catching a few, which I planned on blogging about... some day!
