The
thesaurus also says: ‘See mixture’ and then states: Freedom from Mixture. – This
to me seems odd. I guess if something involves simpleness or simplicity,
there’s no need to stir anything in to the mix. Unless you make rice krispie
treats, but those are simple, and simply good!
food for thought: I’m sure I’m giving a
glowing look at how unintelligent I am. Dur. However, I never did claim to be a
genius. But now for the serious business: do you like rice krispie treats?
Hahaha! You brought a smile to my face this morning with your musings.
ReplyDeleteMy husband LOVES rice krispie treats, and so I make them for him, but I do not like them. Your post reminded me that my grandmother made them up at camp for summer treats, and despite my sweet tooth, I never warmed up to them.
My husband hates rice krispie treats, so when I make them, I usually eat the entire pan myself! Although I try and make them when I know there's company coming.
DeleteFirst of all, stop. You know what I'm referring to.
ReplyDeleteSecondly...unfortunately (for my butt and my gut) I do. Have you ever made rice krispy treats with (brown) rice krispies? I've heard those DO exist...
Yes, I know.
DeleteAnd I have a recipe called Brown Butter Rice Crispy Treats, which are more awesome than regular. And no, I've never used - would that be chocolate rice krispies? I think that'd be gross, like chocolate gooey butter. Ugh. Some things need to just be straight up plain/original.

ReplyDeleteThis is so weird! - the picture is showing up on my screen as a blank with only a little blue question mark in the middle. I thought you'd intentionally posted a blank page to illustrate simpleness! Luckily when I clicked on the question mark, it reappeared. For me there's something about the sensation of sinking your teeth into that lovely crunch ALONE that causes pure, simple love.
ReplyDeleteI love home-made rice crispy treats!! But NEVER the store-bought!! Have you ever tried them?? I think they're like those candy corn bags that the grocers keep bringing out from the back room every October!! OLD. I think I almost broke a tooth once on a store-bought rice crispy treat. Yuck! This sure brought back memories, Lynn. I haven't made any since my youngest son went to college....so long ago....And, I'm with you....I can eat an entire pan! ;)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy a good Rice Krispies Treat, but only with the cereal and marshmallow. My mom puts peanut butter in them, and then adds a thick slab of chocolate icing. I HATE that. But my son and his friends love them.
ReplyDeleteLynn, reading your post caused me to become simply starving for rice krispie treats. Love 'em!
