It’s about another month since I last
posted a blog… still off the grid a bit. For one thing, my computer was acting up
and running so slow, I thought I’d lose my mind. I finally got the computer
cleaned up, but still stayed off as I’ve been cleaning out
closets and drawers while doing the September Minimalist Challenge. September 1st
you are to get rid of one thing, September 2nd, two things, etc.,
and by the end of September, you will have gotten rid of 465 things. That’s
some cleaning out, let me tell you. My little sister is going to have a garage
sale on Friday, October 10 and Saturday, October 11, where I’m hauling all my
goods to her place to sell. Any monies made I’m donating to my favorite
non-profit. I’ll post more details later.
If you’re looking for some old time
fun, my little sister is participating at the Family Music & Heritage
Festival on Saturday, October 4, in Washington, MO where she will be demonstrating
spinning yarn on a spinning wheel and other things that have to do with fiber.
Her and my youngest daughter are Fiber Freaks. Seriously, they sheered a sheep
just for fun, with a scissors!
Next on the list, if you’re a writer
and in the St. Louis, MO or surrounding area, you may want to attend The Write
Direction Conference on Saturday, October 18 in Columbia, MO. I’ll be there
with one of my writing critique friends.
The
weekend following, I’ll be heading to Minnesota for a spiritual seminar. It
will be totally awesome and I can’t wait.
I’m
still drawing, still illustrating my children’s book, still writing, still
taking care of cats, still thinking of everyone, still… being every day… because I’m a
You sound busy with some good things! Fiber!!! I never did the spinning but I did weaving. Great time of my life...but another thing gone by now.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Claudia -- you sound busy in a good way. With regard to the sheep shearing, I'd like to know what prompted them to do that. Of all the things I might wake up wanting to do, shearing sheep isn't an obvious choice. lol
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of getting rid of unwanted items. My basement looks like a cheesy thrift shop. It could sure use some "getting rid of" action.
ReplyDeleteYou are busier than a one-armed paper hanger. Take a deep breath and enjoy the action!

That was an oopsie. Do you think I used the word "action" enough? ;-)

Now Pat has inspired me to say: Busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest!
ReplyDeleteWho knew the appendage-challenged were such go-getters?
That sounds like a great time to head to Minnesota. You ARE one busy woman, Lynn.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the yard sale? Sheep shearing, huh? Have you tried it?
ReplyDeleteYour life is so interesting compared to mine. You are involved in a lot of different things.
And we are lucky ducks for knowing you. Thanks for all the great information.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to clean out closets. I'm so happy you're back blogging. Thanks for the info and for the photo. You rock!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great line-up, Lynn! You are a Lucky Duck.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kathy M.
And you are one talented lucky duck, too : )
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get rid of things and I do fine for a few days....then I run out of steam or momentum. I think I get burned out on trying to make decisions...what to keep, what to get rid of. But I need to start again this week! It's nice to catch up with you a little! Enjoy your weekend sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
