It’s Book Blurb Friday #52—one year since Lisa Ricard Claro (writinginthebuff) started BBF. I began playing from day one, was pretty gung-ho, but fizzled out and joined in sporadically.
Basically you write a book blurb based on the photo (that being the cover of the book) and you must do it in 150 words or less. This week’s photo is by your one and only—me! I had to play this one—after all Lisa was kind enough to use my photo and it’s the One Year Anniversary of BBF.
For anyone new to this blog and this meme, my character's name is always Obermoeller. It was too hard to compete with Lisa and the whopper names she created--pure genius.
Here’s my 74 words—
Vanished
Obermoeller unable to perform his disappearing act, fell into his desk, humiliated. How would he face his audience who paid big bucks for his out-of-this-world, one-of-a-kind magic show?
When Obermoeller looks up, he's astonished to find the entire audience had vanished. What would Obermoeller do to get them back? Could he?
Find out in this gripping true story whether the Great Magician Oberdope is a fraud or capable of performing what deemed the impossible.
FYI Note: This photo was taken in Maui and this man was a magician named Warren. For the life of me I can’t remember why his head was down. Anyone planning to go, you need to make reservations in advance and he’s definitely worth seeing.
LOL, the audience disappeared "poof" and "Oberdope" can't get anyone back. Wonderful take on the prompt, especially as it's your own photo. Good work, Lynn!

Hi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the photo.
I love the twist that the audience was gone.
Donna
Very good. :)
ReplyDeleteGood one, Lynn! Great story and thanks for the explanation of the picture. I thought maybe a magician, but the picture really stumped me. All I could see was a coffin so that is where my "book" took me.
ReplyDeleteLittle chilly but bright sun here today...each day is a new one!
I am like Bookie. I'm glad you explained the photo, because it definitely piqued my interest.
ReplyDeleteAnother adventure for Obermoeller. He sure gets around! ;)
I'd not have guessed a magician - thought it was a politician - love the disappearing audience.
ReplyDeleteA magician who disappears? Pffft!
ReplyDeleteBut a magician who can make an audience disappear? Now there's a true genius...and a clever story!
Pat
Critter Alley
Hey Kay, Donna, Jess, Bookie, Sioux, Sandra and Pat - thanks for stopping in and the encouraging words.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn ... that is awesome! Thanks for explaining the photo; I never would have guessed that he was a true musician ... I was leaning towards a speed eating contest and a guy with a belly ache.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Kathy - a speed eating contest with a belly ache.

ReplyDeleteLynn, your twist is brilliant. And I too never would have guessed he was a magician! I thought he was a judge!
ReplyDeleteIt is tough to write a blurb to a picture you took (I know, because I had to do it last week) but you aced it. Great blurb. I already care about Obermoeller :) as he seems to be very humble and unsure of himself. I want to know what happened to everyone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing, and for the kind words. I appreciate both. :)
