Dear Mom,
I've probably mentioned this before that Suzanne, Ruth and I have birthday dinners. We sisters take turns and cook dinner for the one or the other on their birthday - or as close as we can get. Since I have a December birthday and there is always so much going on that month (who could imagine), that we postpone mine until... whenever.
We celebrated a few weeks ago at Ruth's.
Here's the table setting - the silverware was yours.
I was so excited to eat what Ruth made that I didn't get any good pictures of the meal.
And here are the three of us - Ruth (left) and Suzanne (right) thought they'd hide, which they did...
... but here they are in full view.
And Obie (one of Ruth's pooch) wanted in on the action:
How fun! You all look so happy.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun and we are happy - the only one not so happy was Obie as he couldn't get on the table and eat!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a fun-loving trio. How fortunate you are to have two sisters like that, Lynn.
ReplyDeleteHow nice you all can have birthday dinners together! The table setting is sweet too...it looks like a spring tea party. Glad you have each other and can do this tradition.....
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the three of you!
ReplyDeleteYes Sioux and Bookie - it is nice having those two sisters!
ReplyDeleteThanks Victoria!
How wonderful! You make me want sisters! YOUR sisters!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I think that I already wished you a happy birthday, but I am so glad that you got to have a great time with your sissies.
Thanks so much for the email, it was great to read your interview; I am going to have to get that book on planning your book. I read the other links about the writing submissions also. Good for them! I wonder if there is one for step-families; boy would I have some stories to submit on that, including when my 12 year old stepson told me that I should seriously re-evaluate my position in the family. Whatever.
Hugs,
Kathy M.
How blessed am I to have two fabulous, talented, and delightful sisters! I love all the times we spend together.

ReplyDeleteJess, I forget that some folks don't have sisters. I'll share. :-)
ReplyDeleteKathy, family is family, so I'm sure you could write something about step-families - why not? Give it a shot.
Suzanne, Yay, your comment went through - twice, so I deleted one of them!
Ahh, sisters! Now I must go call mine. You've made me yearn to hear her voice. Great photos. The three of you are so lovely. I like the one of your sisters hiding...it is a happy photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute family! And I love Portmeirion's Botanic pattern! What a beautiful table and a beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteYour post is filled with cute faces, both two-legged and four. Family traditions are so wonderful!

Lisa, yes, my little sister is really cracking up in that "hiding" picture. Glad you are calling your "di-di" (that's what my girls call each other, which is their word for sister).
ReplyDeleteTammy, how can you remember a name like that of a dish pattern? Whiz kid.
Pat, family traditions are nice.
Hi.. I'm new to your blog...and the title description caught my attention. I love the heartwarming and compassionate premise of your blog.
