Dear Mom,
Since I've been in this critique group with Sioux, Linda, Tammy, and Beth, I've been feeling a little not-up-to-par with them as they all have been published in Sasee or Chicken Soup for the Soul and a ton of other places.
It does help that I submit my writing and that's what I've been making an effort to do. After reading Sasee's editorial calendar, I jotted down what I could write for the magazine and went to work.
I absolutely love to write. But of course there's a thrill to see something I've submitted get published. Some writers I know do the "Happy Dance" and I was no exception.
My article, We Don't Always Get What We Want, is in the April issue of Sasee. If you haven't been to Sasee, you should check it out. You'll also spot Linda's article, He Married Me Twice.
So I'm celebrating and feeling, well... quite Sasee! No fooling.
Congratulations, Lynn. I read your story. It's a beautiful one, and perfect for Spring.
ReplyDeleteNo ton of publications for me. ONLY Sasee and Chicken Soup, for the most part.
I think you hit the nail on the head. You haven't been published in Sasee before this because you work on other projects--your book, along with writing a gross of personal letters every month. Some of us (like me) just keep submitting to the same publications over and over. I need to diversify.
Again, congrats.
Lynn, this is SOOO exciting! Congratulations!! How well I remember the black-eyed Susan - both the one on Kay and your delight with the one where you live now.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative...way to go!
Wonderful you are in Sasee...I just read your essay. Oh, Lynn, so beautiful. You did a swell job with this one!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Sioux, Suzanne and Bookie - thanks for your kind words! Appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteGreat article! And congratulations on your acceptance and pub. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Lynn!! What a wonderful story and lesson. How true.
ReplyDeleteYay Lynn!!! So excited for you - wonderful news! HOW on earth did you keep it to yourself!! Read both yours and Linda and loved them both. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! This is so cool, and I really enjoyed your story so much.
I have heard that if something is in the wrong place, then it is a week; that gives me permission to pluck whatever it is away without guilt.

Lisa, Tammy, Beth and Kathy - thank you. It was hard keeping it to myself, but I was afraid I'd jinx myself by yacking on about it before it was printed since I've heard stories of pieces being pulled at the last minute.
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI read your lovely essay in Sasee and left a comment for you.
Congratulations on your wonderful accomplishment!
I'm certain your mom would be proud.
Donna
Such amazing news, congratulations!!! Heading over to read it now even if it's oh so late over here :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your story, Lynn. It was great. Wish I could say your letter is in the main but it 'aint' and in fact, I'm just now writing it. You'll get it AFTER Easter! Have a great holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteDarn it! I meant MAIL!
ReplyDeleteDonna, Estrella, and Jess - thank you and thanks so much for commenting on the Sasee site! Everyone has been so supportive.
