My friend Sioux is bringing back Book Blurb Friday that Lisa
used to do. Check out Sioux's blog for all the nitty gritty details, but basically, you write 150 words or less as a book blurb based on the picture. I’m
not very good at this and mine always tend to be really short. I usually just
write the first thing that pops in my head, trying not to strain my brain too
much, otherwise it hurts too bad, then I want to quit, become all
self-conscious, worrying about every little word and hey, this is just supposed
to be fun. F.U.N. I don’t have time for anything else but FUN. Sometimes I have
a hard time with FUN. And after
reading Sioux’s blurb, I started to compare what I wrote and thought, wow, didn’t
even realize there was a clock in the picture, durp, but oh well, F.U.N.... F.U.N.... F.U.N....
My 66 word book blurb:
HEADSTONE
Taking a break from her stressful job, Joannie played on the beach having fun,
she created what she imaged her headstone to be. Find out what transpires when
Joannie loses her best friend suddenly, and while walking through the cemetery
after burying her dear friend, she discovers an exact headstone
like the one she created on the beach. Was it a sign of
things to come?
Lynn--Yours was much more intriguing than mine. I latched onto that clock and all I could think of was time.
ReplyDeleteNow--get back off the blogs and get back to your book. ;) (And thanks for playing.)

Is it my blogger site, but both comments came in double. And yes, back to my book!
DeleteI liked it! You certainly did better than me. I sat this one out.

Great, Lynn...glad to see you show up here. I am dragging on a book cover...but maybe I CAN do it today!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you saw the piece on letter writing on Sunday Morning today. I thought of you at every word!!!
ReplyDeleteAck, I didn't see the Sunday Morning on letter writing :-(
Delete66 words? How'd you do that? I used every single one of the 150. Succinctness is not in my wheelhouse.
ReplyDeleteBecause I'm not very good at this stuff!
DeleteI'm with Val...how'd you do that? lol This is a great premise, Lynnie!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, Lynnie, love it. See above. :-)
