Cinnamon Girl

I love Cat Stevens' music. After I finished drawing this cinnamon toast that hubby made for me—the same cinnamon bread that my friend, Gwen gifted us with (we put it in the freezer to save for later), I thought about the song, Cinnamon Girl.

food for thought: What nice gift have you received lately and what did it remind you of?

  1. I didn't realize it was a drawing at first! Amazing.

  2. Love the drawing---and also Cat Stevens. "Wild World" was always my favorite. :)

  3. I had SUCH a crush on Cat Stevens. I went to one of his concerts and was totally in love with him and his music.

I got a turntable for Christmas, which I didn't think I would be so berserk about, but listening to my old CSN&Y, Cat Stevens, Joni Mitchell, Simon and Garfunkle, Carole King and James Taylor...hearing that distinctive "hiss" that is a part of records...returning to an era that I left decades ago--that turntable was a marvelous gift.

(And I'm with Tammy. I thought it was a photo of a piece of cinnamon toast, and you were writing about the drawing you did.)

  5. Tammy, thanks. I was pretty impressed with my cinnamon toast too! Ha.
Lisa, my favorite is Wild World also. When I was little, I'd listen to that song over and over and over and over.
Sioux, those are some of my favorites too.

  6. I raise a toast to your toast. I find it quite appealing.

  9. I join the others in saying, WOW! Great toast!! :) I received my letter today and I'm always amazed at how much we have in common. I bought a book a couple of years ago on how to sketch/journal. I love the way journals look with drawings all through the pages! You are so talented, girl! And SO energetic. You make me feel like a slug. :)
