I done rubbed ‘em and everything, figgered I was, what do that call that thing, hallucining or sumpin.” This is just part of the tale that Billy gave when his ole buddy disappeared. Is that what really happened? Or is Billy playing the dumb cowboy? Hang on to your hat as you delve into this Western Mystery that’s sure to throw you for a loop.

Sioux’s Book Blurb Friday #10

Okay, didn't think I was going to play this week as I've been watching a 9 part episode on "Truth About Cancer." It's been quite an eye opener. Did you know that cancer is not a death sentence and that there are natural means to heal and prevent cancer?

And now for Sioux’s Book Blurb Friday #10. Check out Sioux’s blog for all the nitty gritty details.

(My daughter informed me that I needed to be a bit more creative with the character's names. Easy for her to say. I decided I'd start using the names of my relatives. Brilliant, I say.)

You basically write 150 word book blurb based on the picture for that week:

My 82 word blurb:

WHAT DID YOU SAY?
When asked to be a part for a statue, Alicia and Mart readily agreed thinking they were posing for the town square. Famous at last. They had no idea a liquid would be poured over them, capturing forever their position. The weird thing was that they could communicate with one another—not with their voice, but by mental telepathy. Oh the conversations that took place. Find out the story behind the scenes and what transpired in hilarious tale of egos run amuck.

My 104 word blurb (my word count is climbing):

CAT’S IN THE BAG
You all know Tashia Bleu let the cat out of the bag, as the ole cliché goes, and good ole karma came back to bite her when her best friend’s cat slipped into the gift bag that she left for Tashia. Little did Tashia know that on Felix’s collar was a hidden camera. Her best friend, Regan placed it on Felix when she was trying to figure out who was eating all her vegetables in the garden. What karma came back to bite Tashia? What other cat was let out of the bag? Will Regan still be her best friend after all is revealed?

My 94 word blurb:

THAT’S IT
A pair of shoes. That’s it—all that remained of Timothy Bleu. Some speculated he was taken in an alien spaceship. Some said he had to be abducted by the serial killer that only left the shoes of the victim. A few felt Timothy planted his shoes there on purpose to let the town know he wasn’t just an ordinary boy. Most of the townspeople didn’t want to believe Timothy really had invisible powers and that he was skilled at body projection. Read along and find clues to discover the disappearance of Timothy Bleu.

DON’T FORGET – tell your friends, neighbors, family to check out my previous blog post about winning a book! Just comment and you’ll be in the drawing – to be announced on Easter!

Since Tashma Bleu just ended her seventh marriage, she was willing to try anything. Find out in this intriguing tale the men that come into Tashma’s life and what happens.

Sioux's Book Blurb Friday #5

It’s Sioux’s Book Blurb Friday #5. To learn more about Sioux’s Book Blurb Friday, check out Sioux’s blog. You basically write 150 word book blurb based on the picture:

Years ago when Lisa Ricard Claro did this Book Blurb Friday, I stressed so much about it that the fun was lost. I vowed this time it would be F.U.N. I write the first thing that pops in my head (when it pops in my head). I usually fall short on the word count, but that’s okay.

66 words this time around for the blurb below:

DREAMLAND
Enamored with the red bird, it was all Tashma Bleu thought about. She dreamed of flying to far away places, and one night it happened—she was the red bird. In this tale of dreams turning into reality, find out the advantages and near mishaps—now Tashma Red Feather—encounters. What becomes of Ms. Bleu? Will she remain Tashma Red Feather—trapped in dreamland? Or not?

Okay, I seem to be upping my word count.
Here is my 108 word book blurb:

THE AWAKENING
When Norma Oberdope woke up and found herself tied to the railroad tracks, she was sure she was dreaming. Norma looked into the distance and hoped and prayed that this track was not being used and that someone played a really mean joke on her for partaking of the sauce. When Norma realized she had to pee, that’s what caused the chain of events that she thought would surprise even Superman himself... in her Superman world anyway. Read to find out how Norma ended up on the tracks and if she was able to free herself when she heard the shrill sound of the whistle in the distance.

Sioux's Book Blurb Friday #3

I didn't think I'd have time to play this Book Blurb Friday thing, but I'm managing to fit it in. It is amazing what you can cram into a day when you put your mind to it. Now granted, I'm not spending much time with these because I want it to be F.U.N. When I start to stress about this word usage or that, I'm going to quit. Just saying.

Check out Sioux's blog for the details of this 150 word book blurb and give it a try.

Today's photo:

Here is my 76 word book blurb:

STRANDED
Lily and Logan were best friends before they could talk. Quite the opposites, they both had a stubborn streak—neither would give. When Logan insisted on having the Volkswagon van checked before their trip, Lily shrugged. Stranded in an unfamiliar country and not speaking to one another, they had no idea someone lurked beyond the bend. Would they put aside their hard-headedness and pull together—or would something else take place surprising both Lily and Logan?

And on a side note: Today my momma, if still alive, would have been 99! She's the one that helped me let go of fear to do this blog. See my first post.

Sioux's Book Blurb Friday #2

My friend Sioux is bringing back Book Blurb Friday that Lisa used to do. You write 150 words or less book blurb based on the picture.  You can see last Friday’s for a little more detail about my take on doing these, and of course check out Sioux’s blog for all the details.

I love this picture. I love old doors and this knob/handle, wow. Can I do a book blurb justice on this photo? Doubtful.

But here is my 95 word book blurb:

Beyond the Blue Door

Fear gripped Amanda. Her heart nudged her to go through the door. Her intuition hinted her world would never be the same once she passed through that door. No longer able to deny her heart nor her intuition, she pulled the door open and stepped through. Nothing could’ve prepared her for what awaited her on the other side. She remained. Now part of that special door, Amanda gently nudges others to do the same. What lies on the other side? Relive Amanda’s journey and then you too can choose to go beyond the blue door.
