Book Blurb Friday #4

And it’s Book Blurb Friday #4. The creator of this meme, fellow friend blogger Lisa of Writing in the Buff is a great gal. You are to look at the photo, pretend it’s a book cover and write a book cover in a 150 words. I’m the Queen for coming up with some really interesting character names. Check out all my Book Blurb Friday’s and you’ll see: #1, #2, #3. The photo for this book cover was taken by Kathy Matthews of Oregon Gifts of Comfort and Joy.

And now for Book Blurb Friday #4 in 88 words:

Beyond the Double Doors

Obermoeller could feel the walls closing in on her as she headed toward the double-doors. Each time she stepped through what awaited her on the other side, she had lost a piece of who she thought she was. The transformation took a toll on Obermoeller, and with no end in sight, could she continue? What happened to Obermoeller on the other side, day after day? Did the transformation mask her physically or did it go deeper than that? Are you ready to discover what’s beyond the double doors?

  1. OooH Lynn, you have me wondering. Write the story, don't let my mind go wandering this corridor.

  2. Will Obermoeller come back from the other side after discovering that there are 3 other stories with a main character named "Obermoeller"? (Just kidding!)

I love the way you hook the reader with a series of questions at the end. You did a "Twilight Zone" kind of blurb. Well done!

  3. I like it! I haven't had time to write mine yet, hopefully today but I'm also trying to make a quilt. arrrgghh not enough hours in my day! By the way Lynn, you're a no-reply blogger so I don't know if my messages get to you! I wrote a reply on the Postcrossing thing in the post. It really doesn't take much time! postcard love: Seattle, USA

  5. I love what you've written. You've managed to take the picture into a genre that it's not easily matched to, and it works well. It's full of intrigue, and I want to read the book. Great!

  6. Obermoeller really gets around. :) Lots of mystery and maybe some paranormal/sci-fi stuff going on in your blurb, too. I love that Obermoeller isn't afraid to keep opening those doors!

Thanks for posting the badge. I'm trying to figure out how to make the darn thing smaller without messing up the code. :)

  7. Isn't is interesting that those closed doors bring question marks to mind for us? What is it that makes doors suggest intrigue rather than say-safety? Nice job here creating for us the wondering what is ahead.

  9. Thanks for all the wonderful comments! Obermoeller does get around! he he he. And thanks Liberal Sprinkles - you're right, I don't ever think about going back to comments even when I ask a question - good grief. Perhaps I'll look further into it.

  10. Immediately, I thought of a group of evil plastic surgeons...are they turning Obermoeller into a monster?

  12. I'd have to read this in broad daylight but I'd want to know what was on the other side of the double doors.

  14. June, I know your real name, let me think, umm, okay my brain is not working. I don't know what is going on with the other side (clearly I don't know what's going on on this side!)
    Kathy and Janice, thank you.
    Fireblossom - that's funny!

  16. Hi Lynn,
Sorry it's taken me so long to post on your blog. I love the blurb you came up with, and the name Obermoeller is perfect.

  17. I like that philosophical touch. Will Obermoeller find herself?! Will the rest of us?
