Dear Mom,
I’m overwhelmed at the number of people commenting and looking (privately and publicly) at this blog that’s for you. I’m still trying to figure out some things, but I’ve realized that I am surrounded by some pretty amazing, talented, creative, artistic, awesome people and I just wanted to acknowledge them all here and apologize for not having them posted on my blog—it would go on forever. I also have some pretty amazing, talented friends and relatives that aren’t online, and I’m fortunate enough to be a part of their lives. Some I’ve known forever, others are quite new. (Thanks to all of you for the gifts you bring to the world.) Mom, wish you could meet all the folks that have inspired me to be (me).

Oh my gosh, Lynn! This is so sweet of you! I'm so proud to be your friend. Even though we haven't spent that much time together, I feel as though we've been friends for years. That's how it always seems to be with my writer friends...it must be our "creative connection"!
ReplyDeleteHi Lynn - Thanks for including me in your ever-growing list of readers! The theme you have here is enticing because it is at once personal and universal, and I so wish I'd thought of it first! LOL Seriously, your posts are terrific and I love the idea of writing letters to your mom. After my mom died I had a terrible time writing anything about her...it never occurred to me to write TO her; but, oh, how cathartic that would have been! (I do "talk" to her all the time, though!) I love your writing and look forward to reading more.

Awesome. Thank you for making me part of your list. And you posted it on my birthday so it is like a birthday present.
ReplyDeleteAdam Long
Becky - thank you, I love all the "creative connections" I've been making too.
ReplyDeleteLisa - go ahead and start writing to your mom, you'll be amazed at what comes forth.
Adam - Happy Belated Birthday - and you're quite welcome, I love your sculptures!
